It was a chilly day for our fundraiser and #WorldAnimalReikiDay celebration at the Little Red Barn Farm Sanctuary! Our twin staters know how to do it, though, and were bundled up and prepared. The sheep and goats helped keep us warm along with some delicious hot chocolate and snacks provided by the sanctuary.
We had a great time sharing meditation with the animals. We finished with a gratitude meditation and the WARD Prayer. A beautiful day all around! So much gratitude to all who came or donated.

Feeling grateful for the incredible magic that animal reiki has brought into my life! Who would’ve thought I’d get to do reiki with a lion, a tiger, and even a bear?! Connecting with all the furry friends at the shelter has been such a joy. Animal reiki supports shelter animals relaxation so they can shine their true self and get adopted!
Animals truly are our greatest teachers. Thank you for all the lessons, my furry companions!

Honoring World Animal Reiki Day – February 5
Today, we celebrate the incredible bond between humans and animals through the healing power of Reiki.
As an Animal Reiki practitioner, I’ve seen how profoundly animals respond to this gentle energy—their bodies relax, their demeanor softens, and they become less reactive. They recognize and appreciate kindness, knowing they are truly seen and supported. Understanding animals from this energetic perspective reveals the burdens they carry, allowing us to nurture them with greater awareness. Reiki isn’t about "fixing" them; it’s about creating space for their healing, honoring their wisdom, and supporting them on their own terms.
Tomorrow is World Animal Reiki Day.
Reiki means "Universal Life Energy." Discovered in Japan it helps animals and their humans by offering unconditional kindness to restore physical and emotional balance.

I approached this world because I needed new inspiration, new tools to help animals.
But an ""energetic"" check-up is what, in some cases, can save an animal’s life—healing their soul and spirit, not just their physical body.

I thought it would be fitting to share about our Darling Girl Rowan and how she inspired us to Reiki and how her legacy lives on....
Rowan was our inspiration with the Rowan Tree Reiki
She was our rescued, petite Red-Golden Retriever on our wedding anniversary, June 29, 2014
Rowan, named after the Rowan Tree, a celebrated tree in the Celtic World view, often as the Tree of Life
Rowan means, Little Red One and we knew that was her name when we were driving out to meet her.
We bonded deeply and had a rich fulfilling 4 years together
And then in 2018 she was diagnosed with canine cutaneous lymphoma and this diagnosis set us on our Reiki path...
