Giving Reiki to Aloka, the sweet 'Peace Dog' who has accompanied the monks on the Walk for Peace from Texas to DC, was a dream come true.
The opportunity presented itself during the evening Peace Talk in Stafford, VA while I was volunteering. I crouched down and offered Reiki healing energy to Aloka. He immediately came to my hands, pressed against my heart, and enjoyed several minutes of hands-on Reiki. I was so grateful to be able to offer it to him, especially since he had to have surgery to repair a torn ACL in his right hind leg about five weeks ago during the Walk for Peace.
I am so grateful I had this amazing opportunity and was able to share Reiki with Aloka.
Happy World Animal Reiki Day. I was at the shelter tonight so I wanted to share a photo of me with a cat named Maxwell and a dog named Skeeter. I've also been working with 3 puppies who came in very scared. They keep their tail between their legs, don't want to play, curl up on their bed or hide. Here is a picture of Noel, a doxy mix who's starting to come out of her shell. I don't have a picture of Eddie, but he's starting to come around. Here are photos of Violet, Eddie's littermate, sticking her nose out from under one end of her bed and her tail out from the other end of her bed. I will continue to share Reiki with her as well.
✨ Offering Animal Reiki sessions has always filled me with happiness and led me down a deep path of learning.
As I have for so many years, I continue researching, experimenting, asking myself questions, going deeper and deeper, exploring, and weaving together different theories.
✨ Teaching Animal Reiki opened me to something even greater: understanding that animals—all of them—show us and teach us.
Those who live with us, but also those who pass through our lives for just a little while. They arrive with a message, and what they bring resonates within you as well.
When I look back and think about how I began with Reiki—those first sessions with animals when none of this was widely known, my research and experiences, that first in-person gathering I organized in 2019—and then I look at myself today, with everything that has happened over these years, with all that has been built, with the number of people who have come closer, trained, and found a path through Animal Reiki, I can’t help but feel deeply moved.
Today, on Animal Reiki Day, in the year that marks 10 years of this celebration, I choose to honor this practice.
To honor the animals—their souls, their kindness, and their wisdom.
And to give thanks for what they teach us when we are willing to listen.

My connection with animals has always gone far beyond cuddles and companionship. It is energetic. It is intuitive. It is something felt rather than explained.
Over the years I have shared Reiki not only with the pets curled up beside me now, but also with those who have crossed the rainbow bridge. I still feel them.
Our beautiful cat Cora, taken far too soon.
Our rescue dog Baxter, a little local celebrity who left pawprints all over our hometown and our hearts.
Even my much-loved pet turtles, who quietly came and went across different chapters of my life.
Energy does not vanish. Love does not disappear. The bond remains.
Today I am sending Reiki across realms, honouring every whisker, paw and tiny claw that has shaped my story. If you have animals in spirit, know that your connection is still there. It always will be. 💜✨

All animals hold space for us. They take in energy and vibes.
They help heal us because they love us. So we honor them by loving them, taking care of them, and healing them as well.
All personal photos taken by me.

With gratitude for all animals and those who care for them 💚
🌍✨ Happy World Animal Reiki Day ✨🌍
🐾 Today we join hearts across the globe in recognising the healing and calming benefits of Animal Reiki — a gentle energy practice that supports animals emotionally and spiritually, especially those waiting in shelters or healing from trauma. ✨
The pic is of our Chunk who we adopted from @stganimalcentre many years ago.
Today feels especially close to my heart.
I am endlessly grateful to my beautiful boy Monty, who showed me the true power of Reiki for animals — and is the very reason I became a Reiki practitioner.
Years ago, while out walking with Monty and a dear friend who had practised Reiki for many years, Monty suddenly became unwell. He’d been running, swimming, eating everything in sight… and we were in the middle of nowhere when his tummy gave up on him.
My wonderful friend Sue simply knelt down and did what she does best. Within moments, Monty settled. He stood quietly, calmly looking between her and me. After a few minutes, he shook himself off and trotted away as if nothing had happened.
It was honestly magical to witness — and it planted a seed that changed my life.
Monty loved having Reiki. I know, deep down, how much it helped him, especially towards the end. Reiki also held me through my grief when he died, in a way nothing else quite could.
What’s even more amazing is seeing how Cheery responds to it now. I give her Reiki every day, especially after training sessions. She’ll lie quietly, then take one big, deep breath — and you can almost see the tension and angst melt away. After that, she truly rests and recharges. I genuinely believe it’s supported her recovery and her progress.
And my girls love it too, they accept it willingly and joyfully 🥹🐓 💛
Thank you, Monty. Always my teacher. Always my heart. 🐾✨
Today is World Animal Reiki Day - initiated by the amazing Kathleen Prasaad of @animalreikisource
Animals are very in tune to the energy that surrounds us and makes us - (quantum physics, fact!) 🐴🐕
I shall be giving my two dogs Reiki this evening to honour this day and the amazing therapy that I am able to offer ✨️
⭐️Happy World Animal Reiki Day, today, February 5!⭐️
Embrace compassion in action as we pause, notice & listen to our animal friends — today and every day. Oh, and tell your dog I said “Hi.” 👋
Happy World Animal Reiki Day 💜
This day reminds us that animals aren't just companions. They have feelings, needs, and reactions to the world around them. They love unconditionally, give without asking for anything in return, and offer a quiet presence that can do more than words ever could. Animals wait, follow, and heal us in ways we often don't notice.
I am so honored to be a Master Animal Reiki practitioner and to be able to offer gentle energy to ease stress, fear, and discomfort in animals.
If you'd like to try a Reiki session with your companion animals or any animals in your care, set aside a few minutes to sit near the animal, relax your breathing, and focus on peaceful thoughts. Let the animal come closer to you on their own while you keep your movements soft and your peaceful attention steady. This quiet space will help animals feel safe, secure, and connected with you.
✨🐾 Happy World Animal Reiki Day — February 5th 🐾✨
On this special day, we honor all animals, past and present, and the gentle energy that supports their well-being, peace, and healing. Whether you practice Reiki, receive it, or simply hold animals in loving awareness, today is a reminder that our presence and compassion truly matter. 🙏💫
Where are all my Animal Reiki lovers? 🐾
It has always reminded me to slow right down, soften my hands & listen without trying to fix anything.
To offer healing with consent, patience & deep respect for their animal wisdom.
Sending big love to our animal teachers & the beautiful humans who care for them 🙏🏽❤️
