Cristina Losapio, CPDT-KA is a SARA Teacher based in Westchester County, New York. She has had the honor to work alongside dogs and families since April 2006 at Trail Dog Inc. She has extensive hands-on experience as well as formal education about understanding how animals think and learn. Cristina is a behavior consultant who started working with puppies, building trust, resilience and positive calm associations. The past decade she has focused on dogs with trauma, creating new neural pathways and building trust back. Cristina’s knowledge extends to animal rescue and shelter groups, from teaching classes to behavior modification for shelter dogs. Cristina volunteered at a VA Hospital for 5 years with her incredibly friendly and gentle therapy dog, Windham. They also spoke at schools and post offices to share wisdom on how to be around dogs in a safe and kind way. Cristina co-runs a monthly meditation circle at a local Alpaca farm. Cristina has a passion for the outdoors, caring for our planet and supporting local businesses. She believes that mindfulness can open our hearts to a world of beauty if we actively listen.
