Reiki I & Animal Reiki Teacher Training: The Basics

Most Reiki I classes focus on Reiki for people, but Kathleen’s class is unique in its emphasis on Reiki for animals and the people who love them. Both the development of listening skills as well as trust in allowing animals to lead in all aspects of sessions are central to a successful Animal Reiki connection. This is why the main practices of this method are meditation, mindful presence and holding space.

The Animal Reiki portion of the class is based on the teachings and principles of Kathleen Prasad, who developed the SARA manuals and curriculum. All human Reiki portions of the classes and manuals are based on traditional Japanese Reiki teachings.

This class certifies you in Reiki 1 in the Let Animals Lead® method and includes:

• The traditional Japanese meaning of Reiki and how it relates to the healing of self and others
• Traditional practice of Joshin Kokyu Ho and Seishin Toitsu, and how to use them with animals
• The Reiki Precepts, and meditations for working with them with animals
• Hands-on Reiki self-treatment, and how to incorporate animals into these sessions
• Best ethics for sharing Reiki with animals
• Reiki chair treatments for animal people
• Techniques for grounding, expansion and connection to help you become an animal magnet to even the most sensitive animals!
• A philosophy of “being” Reiki “with” your animals, rather than “doing” Reiki “to” them.

Reiki II & Animal Reiki Training: Advanced Techniques

This class is for people who have completed Level I Reiki and are interested in deepening their personal healing path with Reiki and animals. This class focuses on the deeper meditative and esoteric uses of Reiki, with an emphasis on promoting kindness to animals and advocacy for their choices, preferences and happiness.

The Animal Reiki portion of the class is based on the teachings and principles of Kathleen Prasad, who developed the SARA manuals and curriculum. All human Reiki portions of the classes and manuals are based on traditional Japanese Reiki teachings.

This class certifies you in Reiki 2 in the Let Animals Lead® method and includes:

• The Hatsurei Ho with Animals
• Meditations for working with the Reiki Precepts with animals
• Best ethics for sharing Reiki with animals
• The Japanese teachings on the first 3 Reiki symbols and mantras
• How to work with animals and the symbols and mantras
• How to chant the mantras for self-healing and for healing animals
• Techniques for grounding, expansion and connection to help you become an animal magnet to even the most sensitive animals!

Reiki III and & Animal Reiki Teacher Training

This class is for Level II Practitioners interested in learning to teach Reiki and Animal Reiki classes, and Level III Practitioners and Teachers interested in deepening their Reiki knowledge and/or adding an Animal Reiki program to their curriculum. Becoming a Shinpiden Level (Level III) Practitioner is the beginning of a wonderful new chapter in your personal healing journey with the animals as well as a new beginning for your professional path in the community. This class is unique in its emphasis on traditional Japanese Reiki techniques integrated into Animal Reiki practice, guided by the unique approach and ethics of Kathleen’s teachings.

Prerequisite: at least Reiki 2 in any lineage and The Animal Reiki Workshop: Core Curriculum by Correspondence

This class certifies you as an Animal Reiki Teacher in the Let Animals Lead® method and includes:

• Discussion and practice in the foundational Reiki techniques for Levels I, II and III and how to use them for healing self and others (with a special focus on sharing sessions ethically with animals of all species, backgrounds and sensitivities)
• How to chant the four Reiki mantras
• Discussion and practice with the 4th Symbol and Mantra (as well as review of the first 3 symbols and mantras) for self-healing (with a special focus on sharing with animals)
• The Reiki Master Initiation/Reiju, as well as instructions for performing the ritual for students
• Instruction and practice in the Let Animals Lead® method of Animal Reiki
• Instruction and practice in self-healing, healing sessions for animal caregivers, and sessions for animals and their people together
• Discussion of the Animal Reiki Practitioner Code of Ethics and its importance to your work as an Animal Reiki Practitioner and Teacher
• Instruction and guidance on how to teach effective Animal Reiki classes
• Permission to use Kathleen’s private teaching manuals for Reiki I, II, and III Classes
• Certificate of Completion

Self-Healing for Animal Caregivers

Especially designed to support animal care staff and volunteers, this class offers a basic understanding of Reiki's relaxation and stress-relief techniques and teachings, as well as Reiki's 5 Precepts for balanced living.

5 Powerful Meditations to Help Heal Your Animals

Developed by SARA President Kathleen Prasad and based on her book, the 5 Powerful Meditations class is designed to teach students how to harness the healing power of meditation to help their animals. Students will learn five transformational meditations that they can use to help shift situations, even the most stressful ones, into peaceful, compassionate and loving moments. Because our animals are so sensitive to our emotional states, it is essential to their well-being (not to mention our own) that we practice balance and peace through meditation. Students will receive a copy of the book 5 Powerful Meditations to Help Heal Your Animals. This class is for all animal lovers and requires no previous Reiki experience.
