Kitten & Fawn; Love & Compassion

November 3, 2020

a fawn licking a kitten

Hermione is a premature fawn left by her mother. Mulan was a sickly, newborn kitten dumped at the animal shelter. Both are being loved and rehabbed at Forevermore Farm, a peaceful, quaint little farm where I teach Reiki & Kathleen Prasad’s Let Animals Lead® method of Animal Reiki.

During a recent class at Forevermore, we begged for Hermione to come inside for bottle feeding. Mulan had been with us all day, playing, napping and soaking up Reiki energy. When Hermione finished her bottle, she walked over and lay down beside Mulan who was already napping. Hermione began bathing Mulan. The love and healing energy being shared between these tiny creatures who had the roughest of starts filled the room. Our hearts were bursting as we watched Hermione and Mulan. The babies showed so much compassion and acceptance – we humans can learn so much from them.

Hermione will soon be healthy and strong enough to be released because she belongs to the land and should be allowed to live as a deer. Mulan, well…she might just become a permanent resident at the farm. She & Hermione are currently teaching three new foster kittens how to soak up the love and energy of Forevermore Farm.

Again I am reminded – we can learn the biggest lessons from the tiniest creatures, if we just open our hearts and listen.  These precious babies showed us how to “Be Reiki” in so many ways!
